Our story begins at a time where the Dutch punkrockscene is dominated by boys. Our heroines all had one thing in common: they had all been following bands around for years. Going to their gigs, roadie-ing, getting beer, carrying guitars. And they all wanted to break the rules and for once, show that they could do it too.
It started at a Ratos de Porao concert, where Chris and Simina joined forces, decided to form a chickband and shock the world with their loud punkrock. Unfortunately, they didn't know any other chicks who liked punk. So they posted some ads on the internet. At the same time, Juut and Ilse were looking for a guitarist/singer. When the girls met up in the RockSupplies, homebase of all awesome punkbands, they knew it was right.
Only after 7 or 8 sessions, the girls played their very first gig ever at the Plug 'n Play night in Arnhem. From that moment, it went really fast. The girls started writing their own songs, influenced by oldskool punk, with lyrics that are so wrong they make you feel slighly uncomfortable.
After a few months, Simina decided that this wasn't what she really wanted and she left the band. The Backdoor Virgins have been performing as a three piece ever since, playing louder, faster, harder and dirtier.
And this is only the beginning.
